I am beyond flabbergasted by the amount of positive feedback I have received for my new documentary. I thought it'd be time for a little storytime to emphasize how incredibly lucky we actually are to have this video.
During our pack vacation, I had filmed for several days on end on the same SD card. It was a card I had just bought, which had a lot more gigabytes available than the other two I used. It was only at the very end of the week, during our first campfire evening (we had two in a row), that I needed to switch cards because it was full. The day after I was going to film the interviews with the pack members. Suddenly a shock went through my body when I opened up my camera bag. The SD card was gone.
I brainstormed for a solid 15 minutes to figure out where it could possibly be. I looked everywhere I could. I felt so unmotivated to still do the interviews considering it might be for nothing, but I did it just in case I'd find the card. In the end the only logical possibility was that I dropped it somewhere in the sand at the campfire place, which was kilometers away, in the middle of nowhere. Chances of me finding the card would be small. But I remembered the place where I had switched cards, so that was my best shot. So we made a plan.
Before the second campfire evening, me and two other pack members would get to the area early so we could take a peek before sundown. Once we arrived, the first thing I found was the case of the SD card, but no card inside. Either I dropped the SD card separarely, or someone decided to take it with them. I wanted to dig in the sand, but was very worried I'd only burry it further. So I very carefully went through the top layer of the sand with my hand. And yes! The SD card appeared! All of the footage of the documentary wasn't lost after all! I literally cried of happiness and relief.
To think that there would have been a big chance that there was no documentary at all. It just makes this project, and its positive feedback, so much more special. So again, thank you all for the support! Please share it through the community!
