When I got my 17.5" " Godsonian" the problem wasn't my wife.... it was the neighbors. They called the city and told them I had left a Porta Potty in my driveway for several weeks. It is a square tube. I store it pointing straight up. It's made out of 1970's commercial aircraft faux wood honeycomb panels. It does look like an outhouse. But it turns out no legislation exists in my neighborhood regulating the use of a telescope in your yard or driveway.... So I put a half moon sign on the side of it to make it look EXACTLY like an outhouse and put a letter in everyone's mailbox inviting them to stop by anytime they see me out there if they want to look through it. I included a couple of low resolution pictures of Jupiter, Saturn and zoomed in pictures of a crater on the moon. In the summer now people come out any night I'm out there. These are the same people who complained to the police when I started flying a drone without a camera on it. So I pasted a couple of googly eyes on it and now they wave to it like it's alive when I fly it.....

You have to put a flashing light on the tip of the telescope because of air traffic

Just buy a giant curtain shower (with pebble print obviously) to cover it. No one will notice that thing. You have experience with those covers ;-)

Makes a nice tomato planter, Just the right depth for soil, built-in drainage. Trellis is built right in. You can use it for your silly star suff at the end of the growing season.
