Today I Found Out

Pursuant to our desire to make some of the best edutainment videos on YouTube :-), this is our annual query for our community and little corner of the interwebs- What do you like about our videos? What do you not like? What could we do better or might make good tweaks to try? Any areas you'd like us to cover more or less? Any and all feedback or thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks! -Daven

@SpencerPaire

The most important things to me are Simon hosting, and the quality of research the writers put in. Especially dispelling common myths; that is actually some of the most useful information to include. So keep Simon in the chair and keep the research complete, and you'll be good! Thanks, as always, for such a fantastic show.

Bring back the tangent counter and Simon fighting with his bionic ass 🤣

Love Simon’s narration. The way his words just flow and his emphasis on certain aspects. He knows his craft well. Random topics which maybe I used to think on when i was a child hut never really got to understanding the ‘why’ are probably my favourite.

@RockyMountainGeordie

I like that the ads are all in one chunk, rather than shorter ones scattered across the video

The videos are great. I would like more long compilation videos, or even better... topical curated playlists. Something that's easy to put on at bedtime and fall asleep to after a long day of work. Maybe categories like "military related" and "technology". I don't know, something like that. Great work, just keep bringing us those fresh fact boy videos and we'll be happy 😂

@MizterTonik

I feel like the sheer amount of videos you make has reduced your overall quality and accuracy. I wish you could slow down a bit, and put better effort and research into your videos. This is especially true for videos discussing scientific news, or historical/medical facts. Otherwise, I love the energy you bring to Brain Blaze. They're hilarious to watch.

Like: Simon's beard and the editors' senses of humor Not Like: wildly fluctuating audio BRING BACK THE TANGENT COUNTER 🎬

@BlackArrowGaming

My only suggestion for improvement would be better audio balancing. It seems like Simon's voice can be a bit hard to hear when he is speaking with a lower tone/inflection at the end of his thoughts/sentences. It's usually not too much of a problem, but if the background music is too high it can be a bit hard to understand him at times. No complaints otherwise, I really enjoy what you guys are doing here :)

@liamrussell367

I’m a huge fan, love the long form videos. Whether that a mix of videos from across the years or Simon sitting down and doing a deep dive

@DeaDGoD_XIV

I really enjoy the videos that Daven did about early American history and would like to see more of those

@kramelbbiw

More tangents from Simon. It feels wrong when he doesn't go off the script - we know he's not big brain like Daven and it seems unfair to make Simon concentrate for that long.

@johndavies6427

I think they're brilliant. Thanks very much to all the team and Simon

@axtaxt2964

I like the rants and how relatable Simeon can be. I hate that he completely doesn't understand guns in America.

@mason74551

I like the history stuff, especially the 20th century. But I would like to see videos that are consistently well researched and not dubious in accuracy. Including a list of reputable sources used in research would be nice. Also, less AI, please. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

I like form videos. Letting simon loose with the tangents is fun to listen to. I like the medical videos but i equally enjoy videos about the weird and wonderful Overall, love the videos!

@RDSwords

I don't like how the audio level seems to be completely different in every single video and across every one of Simon's channels.

A Gratitude Letter for SW All my life I have had two things remain an internal constant, my love of learning information of all kinds and my insomnia. Over the last couple of years I have finally found something that actually works for me, between medication and supports. Noise cancelling earbuds, my dogs, my weighted blanket, a temperature correction for the season room, darkness, and most importantly a Simon Whistler video of any kind. I’ve been a long time viewer seeing channels grow and come and go. From brain blaze, to places, xplrd, into the shadows, warfronts and my personal favorites megaprojects and biographics(may I suggest a collab between the two to highlight the monumental effort and megaproject it was to eradicate smallpox?) Thank you for the novelty daily and the consistency with variety unlike any other. Please feel wellcome to celebrate that I am fully pavloved to be sleepy when I hear enough of factboy’s latest knowledge tidbit, and immediately comforted when nightmares strike (hello trauma my old friend has come to haunt my dreams again). So thank you for the variety, consistency, and depth with breadth of the topics covered. I am always happy to see any channel video and also like today I found out too!
