My family lives in Texas and it is way more affordable than Phoenix. My brand new 2080 sq ft home sold for $235k in 2018, when I moved to Phoenix. Today, it's worth $290k. Now, that's affordable. In 2020, In Phoenix, the $290k home that I was going to purchase is well over $700k today. How does that make Phoenix more affordable than other states? I have two close friends that are real estate agents in Houston, TX and both told me to move back because Phoenix Housing is insane. My father told me to leave Phoenix because I will never be able to purchase a home with my 6 figure income. I would do better off taking a pay cutt and move back to Texas. That's a HOOD Apartment. My family own those same apartments in Ohio. We rent those out to people on Government Housing. In Houston and San Antonio, those are in the Hood.
