Gotta say, been in the trades for so long and an apprenticeship instructor, no pushed three things to my students. #1 Safety First, slips, trips and falls are the #1 reasons in the shop. Clean up regularly and safely stow tools at the end of the day. I still use that in my own shop still. I never say “I’ll get back to that” I make a list and check off after each “honey do’s” I empty my vacs, both portable and in my system at the end of each week.

3 out of 4 ain't bad, lol. I don't leave batteries on the charger very often. And thanks for the reminder to empty the shopvac.

Batteries are getting better. The downside of leaving them on the charger is lower than it used to be.

all of them occasionally.. - but number 2 is rarest - I realised early that it was the single most unsafe thing I did..

All over them. I think I’ve been through 2 shop vacs from not emptying them out then the motor gets stuck and burns out 😂

Batteries are fine. I empty the shop vac when it is so full it stops working.

I use a plug strip with a timer to charge batteries. I can set it for 1 to 4 hours of charging, then the plug strip cuts off.

I never leave a battery on a charger try not to anyhow. Only one that gets left on it is probably my biggest one as it takes 6h to charge it.

We’ve all got one… which of these do you still do (even though you know better)?
