Honestly, I could never see the original dress as anything other than than blue and black. But here I can kind of see the suit as gold and white if I force my brain to. So it's more successful than the original I'd say

I think I finally get it. Unironically. Under a really bright and yellow light, the blue appears white and the black appears gold.
