Businesses should just pay a decent wage so tips aren't relied on.

Absolutely NOT! Pay your workers what they're worth and stop gouging the customers. That's why I don't eat out that much anymore, it's cheaper to cook my own.

A tip should never be forced or expected, but should always be appreciated if given! No matter the amount.

Also, I remember once when a waiter was waiting outside the bathroom for me to come out. He confronted me about his tip, that he felt it wasn’t enough. I told him I’m not who paid for the meal and the person who did tipped you according to what they wanted to tip you. That was creepy. I never went back to that place again either.

I tip. However, employers should pay their employees. People shouldn't have to depend on tips that are optional.

Companies literally make billions from the money they keep from the workers... We are afraid to address the boss, as to why children & women do not respect us. How can door-dashers be mad at customers; w/in the same tax-bracket, but not send a letter to the Fortune 500 C.E.O.?

No tipping should not be mandatory. I once was dining in and the waitress’ service sucked. She didn’t check on us before or after the food was brought. She stood talking to her coworkers and then disappeared. And did not come back until she brought the check. That’s when I noticed there was an auto gratuity added. No wonder she was horrible, she knew she was going to get a tip regardless. Mind you there were only 3 of us. Needless to say I never went back there again. FYI: I have been a waitress and delivery driver before and I earned my tips based on my customer service. I always got good tips.

Tips are part of people’s salary. So, I tip according to the service I get. Mandatory, no but , tipping helps!!!

America is weird. You tip people to do a job they are paid to do.

The employers need to pay their employees. Tips are to show appreciation. Shouldn't be a requirement.

Tipping should only be for servers. A tip shouldn’t be requested when I go to the counter to order my niece some nuggets and fries. That is ruining it for the hard working servers

I usually tip more when delivering to my house. Tbh if I don’t have a tip I usually just get it myself bc I know how it is being a delivery person with no tip.

Why should other people have to compensate for your wages at a job that you decided to work at? Want more money for the job YOU DECIDED to work at go to the boss not the people.

It's nice to give a tip, cause never know what a person is in need of, but let the person give, and not be forced to give
