Iceberg Tech

As the channel crawls inexorably towards the 90,000 subscriber mark, and my well of stuff to make content about starts to run low… I guess it’s time for a Q&A! Leave your questions below.

@Ribbit902

I never actually looked at your sub count. I thought you were up in the 300k range, because that is how the quality of these amazing videos makes me feel

1. How long do you generally hang on to components you get for videos before sending them on to the next owner? 2. How long do you think it will be viable to keep using X99 platform hardware in service? 3. Who invented hats? :chillwcat:

How would you introduce a friend into sustainability by using Yesterday's Hardware to play Today's Games?

I'd love to see a video about vr! More specifically seeing what you can or can't play with the "old" stuff (CPUs and GPUs) paired with a cheap quest 2 for example. Keep doing what you're doing dude it's awesome!

Now that windows 10 is officially dead, do you plan on addressing it in your own video to share your thoughts on the matter?

Is YouTube your day job? Or do you have a full time job and do this on the side?

Dear Mr. Iceberg Tech, what is your favorite Iceberg? Also have you considered iceberg related content?

Do you plan on covering laptops or monitors in the future, either buying them yourself or receiving sponsored units, kinda like the mini pc videos?

@omeletteai

1: What was your favorite budget build or budget part that youve tested? 2: What were the specs for your very first build 3: What game do you think is the best optimized PC game ever released, based on how cheap the PC could be on release and how the game looked compared to other games (IE a game that looked good and played good on the cheap stuff of the era)

Will you do some productivity benchmarks on RDNA 2-3-4 cards, to see if they're catching up to Nvidia, and also compare the video codec's quality at the same bitrate, for video recording and streaming.

@classicgameover

a few questions 1. this one may sound dumb, but when, how and why did you stop featuring Call of Duty games in your benchmarks, GPU or otherwise? I've seen them being prevalent in your videos from 2022 until around the time Black Ops 6 got released 2. will you ever review the 3070 (or the 3070 Ti for that matter, a.k.a. the awkward "stronger" sibling of the GA104 GPUs) again, but for the games that have come out since your April 2023 review? 3. when did all of your plans of reviewing mini PCs (which seem to be your standard videos at this point) begin?

@StopItGCC

Given the rise of UE5 and the lovely CPU use it comes with, at what point is it worth spending budget on an X3D and lowering the GPU budget Vs spending big on a GPU and saving on a CPU

Your "tech benchmarking youtuber" inspirations? I think I've seen you comment on budgetbuildsofficial videos, and if he is one I can certainly feel the influence on occasion. It's a good thing.

I find your forays with mini pcs and other soldered chips to be interesting; as there arent many reviewers who put out such high quality videos as yours on these machines. I wouldnt push you to continue reviewing every single GPU and CPU you obtain with every performance benchmark, unless thats really what you love doing (I wont blame you- me too.) But I do like that you benchmark using the *best you have*, as it also helps me with scalable reference to my own machine- which doesnt run on $2500 parts.
