FreeYogaTV

Happy 10th Anniversary, FreeYogaTV. New podcast premieres today, 11.22.23, to celebrate.
Ten years ago, my stepping into teaching and sharing these classes was born from a dream. I began recording my public classes in the early fall of 2013. The first full-length class I uploaded was "Yoga for Lucid Dreaming" on 11.22.13: https://youtu.be/Fzks5K_eEW0 a video based on a class I dreamt up and taught twice weekly for most of 2013. The inspiration for said class and the name came from where else but:
Once upon a dream…
That can be found at this link:

Head over to that page on our website if you want to read the full dream entry and a bunch more detail about the decade-long journey of FreeYogaTV.

This podcast, this episode, this repetitive seeming practice is anything but the same. Every day, the practitioner is different, so how could the practice not be changed?
My job as a "teacher," of any leader, is to become superfluous in your process as quickly as possible. Give you the tools, no strings attached.
Thank you for being on this journey with me; it's all by design, with the really really long view in mind.
My teachings can challenge patience, disappear sometimes, change unexpectedly, and that's a massive part of learning. Try taking your own class from ten years ago… let's euphimis(m)e it as a fun learning experience…There is no going back or jumping forward; aging doesn't care about our neurosis. Right in our neurosis is our path to enlightenment, the path to being present.
Teachers show us the path by walking it without holding our hand.

In A word:

Fall

The rain not falling isn't - -
A human being not being isn't - -

In screaming joyous plummeting,
I splash with you from afar,
SkyE

P.S. If you would like to find out who SkyE is and whatever happened to good 'ol St3ph3n, click this link: www.jandsarts.com/music and follow 🐇🦋

P.P.S. If you want a video of these 12 sun salutations with the audio, you can join our channel as a member and watch this podcast with a video homage from the last ten years, or you can follow this younger version of me (supposedly) in https://youtu.be/Fua8VVF96KE from 2016.

P.P.P.S. I stumbled upon this first book recommendation nearly 20 years ago in the dressing room upstairs in some ancient theater in Hollywood, CA… There was this ‘take a book, leave a book’ library, and between scenes, I found myself implementing Swami Vishnudevananda’s recommendation that if one wants to start a regular practice, start simple; 12 sun salutations each day…

Short Bib for further research:

The complete illustrated book of yoga by Swami Vishnudevananda
Dream Yoga by Andrew Holecek

And, if you’re starting to get how this works…hint: you won't find what your heart is aching for in this podcast, these videos, or even on your mat. Your unique truth yearns for a life of art. We are all artists, whether or not we have found a discipline that resonates for us in expressing ourselves.
Live the change by being alive in the waking dream with(out) me(you):
