Yes, but only if the money goes to the victim and NOT the greedy court!

I wish that everyone, whether rich or poor, be sentenced according to the crime, not the bank balance.

I just wish they'd get a similar sentence to the average person. I'm assuming most of them would be happy to pay a fine instead of actually going to jail/prison.

Wealthy offenders need to pay restitution to their victims or victims families and they should repay the state for all trial costs.

Why should you be punished more just because of money? Does that mean a rich guy that murders does more time vs a poor guy that murders.

If everyone pays to wait weeks to be fit on the docket for sentencing, then only gets a few weeks for attempted murder with a vehicle , on technicality. If you can afford a lawyer to use past precedence to get a car out of the ‘attempted weapon’ category and are told you can be reformed bc it wasn’t a violent offense. Pay equally, in the monetary form. 🤷🏻

Not additional but at least the same fines and time as you or I would have to do and pay

I believe that financial fines should be imposed based on the crime, but wealthy individuals are often capable of paying restitution but it is charged because it is viewed as unfair since poor criminals won’t have to pay an equal amount. I am not saying that the dollar amount should be equal but rather the percentage of their wealth. Take $20 from a man who has. $100 and he will feel the effects. Take 100K from a man who has millions and he doesn’t even notice it gone
