I was really confused by your post, tbh. At first, I thought it was some right-wing ad (because of Fraktur), then I thought of the extreme left (prominent colour red, a hand gesture resembling a fist), then I saw the non-idiomatic greeting "Schönen Wahltag zur Bundestagswahl", and finally I noticed that it's by you. Your post felt really all over the place to me. 😁

As a US citizen, I just pray that the right doesn't make any more headway anywhere in the world, especially the US and Germany!

Congratulations on making progress getting out of the US permanently. We wish we could do the same.

Apart from denazification the other intitiative of the allied powers in West Germany was reeducation, ie. reestablishing knowledge and trust in democracy. I'm not sure whether that was really necessary or not. But certainly it didn't hurt. If there's something I'd say that I'm really proud of then it's the fact that about 84% of the people who were allowed to vote actually went to cast their vote in this election. "Deutschland ist stabil." ... let's hope it remains that way!

To fight far right countries should have similar approach like Denmark on immigration. Left parties with hard stance on immigration.

Symbology is tricky internationally. You will find the swastika all over Central and Southern Asia, and many other places such as the First Nations of America, dating back thousands of years. Context is important, and not always visible to everyone. Political colours are trickier. Orange has very strong political context in the UK and Ireland. Different in Eastern Europe. Green differs in Ireland from the UK and most other places. Brown and black shirts are not as popular as they once were as working clothes. All invisible to the unknowing.

Hey Ashton can you do a video on German introversion? I hear Germany is a lonely place for foreigners. I hear this about most Germanic places.

The far right use Fraktur to write as you wrote Bundestagswahl!

Don't worry, you'll be able to vote soon enough ... maybe even too soon for your citizenship application processing completion. 😂 Forming the new government will already be a huge challenge, and then keeping it from imploding even more so due to all the irresponsible polemics from the biggest party's leadership clown squad

why u choose this fraktur typo / font for „bundestagswahl“ those people who us this style are in 98% super far right! what kind of typo / font used the german social security for „billing“ you getting a mom.

Happy Election Day in Germany!
Sadly my own citizenship application is still processing, so I am sitting this one out and watching from the sidelines. However, I am watching with intense interest as the German people decide on the future of the federal government. For all of you who are able and willing to vote, I wish you the best today as you head to the polls to cast your decision.
Although this quote is not attributed to a German citizen, but rather the Norwegian Finance Minister, I find it nonetheless timely:
“By voting, we add our voice to the chorus that forms opinions and the basis for actions.” - Jens Stoltenberg
Today's video feels somewhat timely given the media coverage of the election (hint, hint: watch this week's video if you haven't already! 😉). Over the past few weeks, it has been fascinating to read, watch and listen to the debate, polling and reporting on the election cycle. So my question to you is: how do you feel the media "informs and influences" the opinions and the basis for actions amongst the German people in this election? Is it for the positive or the negative?
I look forward to reading your thoughts on the role of the media and community decision making in this thread as well as in the comments section of this week's video!
