Animals understand body language, I currently have raccoons. But dogs, cats, birds name it they understand if they are into you! My horse knows it's me from an acre away and always runs up to me even if I am just checking the fence. The raccoons know when I am pissed or when I am happy!

The answer is… sometimes. Most of the time, actually. I’ve seen dogs completely misread fear in children as aggression. Their abilities really depend on how socialized they are & how wide of a pool they’ve been exposed to.

I've seen enough videos to see that dogs can understand emotions, its how they understand their humans, at least when they decide to

My female Aussie understands two things: Food and Walkies. That's it.

I don't care tbh as I'm a true blue cat person from birth and cats definitely understand our emotions

I'm inclined to believe that they may well do. But being unconditionally a cat person I'm probably somewhat less than qualified to offer an opinion.
