Do you like Shorts? I've been noticing that my Shorts get views, but fewer of you are watching the long-form videos. Some even said you're not seeing them on your feed. Obviously what you like matters. What would you like better in addition to the long-form interviews I'm doing?

@PeregrinTintenfish

I like the long form videos, but I tend to wait to watch longer videos till I have more time. I mostly watch YouTube on my phone and look at my subscription page, so notifications don't affect me.

I don't mind shorts, but I prefer longer videos.

10 minutes sure when I want to listen to something while eating, but not extremely short 1-2 minute videos which just makes me feel like I'm rotting my brain. (That being said a 1-2 minute technique demonstration is great.)

I'm the odd one out then. I prefer longer videos, as I write or work on my models or whatever I'm doing.

With an unmistakably strong emphasis on keeping the long-form videos.

I don't much enjoy shorts, personally, but the algorithm does what it wants. I prefer longer videos that I can listen to while working and driving. Thanks for keeping me company. :)

I like long form videos. I think it would be a rare channel where long videos got more views than shorts, so I don't see that this means anything.

@lacolem1

Yes. YT is also seemingly prioritizing Shorts over long form lately. Quite a few creators are affected. I still prefer longer, but I understand you guys have to do what’s best in this environment

@Winterclaw42

Check with other youtubers but I think a shorter video is better for your channel than Shorts. Shorts IIRC don't do much for monitizing your channel. Dunno if they help channel growth or not.

I voted “Shorts” because I was hoping for another Jill Bearup “Just Stab Me Now”. But about publishing and paper cuts.😅

@christianoutlaw

I prefer jeans 😜. Bad jokes aside, I’m more of a fan of long form content. And that has the advantage that some of the major bullet points can be turned into shorts, kind of a best of both worlds sort of thing. And those can be a nice teaser for the larger vide

@toadbascom4978

I think one of each would be nice. Several creators I follow will try to extract a short or two from their longform content, and that seems to work pretty well.

@BeardedChieftain

I prefer longer, but none of yours turn up on my feed.

While the interviews are great, I enjoy your individual commentary best.

@Mr.Incomplete-ht2vl

YouTube is the new Talk Radio: shorts are good for when you can't fall asleep at night or need some distraction for a fee minutes. Long-form is where it’s at for garnering information. And if you are not Mauler, ,and now The Little Platoon, is it really “long-form”?

@PseronWyrd

Sure, I like shorts. Oh wait, you mean videos....never mind.

@rael2099

Both. Strategically edited, the short video may entice people to watch the whole video.

@emeraldeye14

Neither. I don't watch short form videos and I have an extension to hide shorts from my feed. If I want to watch shorts I'll go to tiktok.

I detest shorts. I also like more inquiring topics and less prescriptive ones. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work. 😊

@richarde1142

I dislike most shorts (I love yours) because it's an algorithmic feed and is designed to waste my time and increase views.
