Last week I made a post about a potential leak of the Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age episode list (as well as a synopsis for each episode). I felt unsure about it so I deleted it. Turns out that very episode list was TRUE!
AND, it does indeed look as if this series of Prehistoric Planet will have a bit of chronological narrative, at least with the first and last episode, the last one even dealing with extinction! Which I personally think is great, especially for such an incredibly recent time-period.
It also looks like we'll be getting the most of the Pleistocene, not just around the LGM!
You can find the source in the link below, as well as some details of more species that will appear in the show (cough* Gigantopithecus). Here's the episode list:
"Two million years ago, with the dinosaurs long gone and a third of the world covered in ice, the world’s coolest animals inherited the earth. Based on brand new science, this is the Ice Age as you’ve never seen it before."
1. The Big Freeze — In a world covered in ice, woolly mammoths and saber-toothed cats fight to survive the coldest temperatures in millions of years.
2. New Lands — As sea levels drop and continents shift, animals begin migrating to unknown territories full of new possibilities—and new threats.
3. Desert Lands — With much of the planet’s water supply frozen, rock-climbing sloths and marsupial lions must find a way to withstand barren landscapes.
4. Grass Lands — Giant herd animals thrive with the expansion of the grasslands, dominating the plains—but fearsome hunters shadow their every move.
5. The Big Melt — Rising temperatures mean every habitat on the planet is transforming, and for the Goliaths of the Ice Age, the world as they know it is ending.
