Windows 10 mode or Linux mode. With al the problems w11 has, the light mode should be last in priority.

Using light mode before using Win 10, then switching to Windows 10 during early 2021 and using dark mode, never turn back since then

Light mode if the screen is darker. Dark mode if the screen is super bright.

I am using an app called Auto Dark Mode to switch between light and dark theme depending on time of day.

Dark Start menu and taskbar, everything else is light. Can't remember how I did that though.

I had never really used dark mode at all on any device, but after getting a HDR capable monitor I use it religiously. With a VA or OLED panel it's wonderful and has power savings.

My personal preference is light during the day and dark after sunset, though I've stopped using Windows as my daily driver and any fixes to this are unlikely to pull me back.

Windows 7 (2025-9-10) is my daily OS but I do wish for an updated OS with dark mode & modern driver support. I don't think I'll ever bother with Win 10/11 in light of the Linux & SteamOS progress.

Years and years of effort just to fix colors? Seriously? And the start menu is STILL bad broken.... Everybody knows this. Everybody has complained about this till they are Blue in the face.. 10 to 15 years since they first broke the start menu and they STILL REFUSE to fix it. So bad you can't make this stuff up. Micro-slop will totally deserve the fall that comes next. Windows team should have been fired already... Also on a 64 bit computer what is this 128GB RAM limit garbage? So Microsoft did tons of extra work to artificially limit memory addessung to just 37 bits.. Sound familiar? In past decades MS use to artificially limit the size of your drives to force you to upgrade versions. MS still up to same old tricks..
