What I ended up doing was spending around $400 on the Davinci Resolve Studio Speed Editor. It included a liscense to the Studio version, so it just made sense. Granted, it was within a week or two of the price hike, so I don't know if I would fully recommend the controller for $475. ($295 for the software, $180 for the controller, supposedly). Glad it's still a one-time purchase instead of a subscription for now; it feels terribly more efficient than using Adobe Creative Cloud (despite the learning curve). Can't wait to watch!

My next YTP is edited entirely in Davinci Resolve. Hoping for a sale on Resolve Studio, but I can get by with the free version.
