so, i'm just gonna go on stage and honestly say: skype wasn't that great. listen, i know MSN messenger died, and microsoft HAD to find its replacement, but really, they picked a bad choice. and with that in mind, microsoft LOVES to constantly replace EVERYTHING, nothing LASTS. so when they killed off skype, they used... teams, proving how we should have NEVER switched to windows

It’s still so sad (and so ironic) that the operating system that evolved the stylistic choices of Windows XP so well, was so bad. I remember racks of magazines at the grocery store about what services to disable and what settings to change to try and get Vista to crash less/behave better

Back when I used it in the early 2010s as being from a middle-schooler to early high schooler, It used to look bubbly detailed and encouraging. It was sad for the UI to shift over flat during the mid-2010s and left out of business today.

I used Skype a bunch. Even stayed on it for years after basically everyone left it that I knew except one guy i frequently talked to. I'm also very lucky in that he enjoys Frutiger Aero a lot. There was a glitch in skype that stopped me from sending photos a few times, so i swapped to Discord thinking "this is it". Little did I know that very soon after, skype was set for being taken down. Which is sad. A significant portion of my life is now over
