I pray that you experience fasting and the blowing of the shofar to have a joyful peace during these difficult times.

Yes, I used to observe all the days, as well as the food laws, thinking that in keeping them I was fulfilling the law for my salvation - big mistake, by God's grace I was saved out of that deception. As Peter said in Acts, he called it a 'yoke', that was hard to bear, and that was true - when you're looking for a job and 'have' to observe the sabbath, and no one will hire you, it's hard. It states in Galatians that if you're going to keep the law, you have to keep the entire law - it's there that Paul reminds them that they were given the Holy Spirit not by law keeping, but by faith - it's the same for salvation. There are 613 laws that the Jews had to keep. Here is the account in Acts: Especially verses 10 and 11. 5 But some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them and to order them to keep the law of Moses.” 6 The apostles and the elders were gathered together to consider this matter. 7 And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. 8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, 9 and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith. 10 Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? 11 But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.” 12 And all the assembly fell silent, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.

Wow some of these comments are so anti Christian. Spirituality is part of our personal walk with Jesus.I am contemplative, does that mean I’m less of a Christian than those who prefer a charismatic spirituality? There is nothing wrong in following OT law & still believing in Jesus. Judgement should be left to Jesus on these matters & not man. As a devout Catholic I can tell you that our liturgy is from the Jewish tradition. Come on folks let’s pray for each other and love each other.

📖 Did you know about Yom Kippur — the second of the Fall Feasts?
⚠️ This is not a joyous celebration, but a day of fasting and mourning.
📜 The commandment to keep Yom Kippur can be found in Leviticus 23:27-32:
"On the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be a set-apart gathering for you. And you shall afflict your beings, and shall bring an offering made by fire to Elohim (God)."
🔥 Prophetically, many believe this will be the day when God’s wrath is cast upon the earth.
🙏 On Yom Kippur, fasting is universally recognized. There is no work, no buying or selling, no celebrating — instead, it is a Sabbath of solemn rest.
✨ Let us honor this most set-apart day and pray that we are accounted worthy to escape the wrath to come.
