ASD is complex and can be diffcult to diagnose in those who require minimal support. Interestingly, women are often diagnosed later and there are many reasons as to why this might be, including the fact that the majority of ASD research had studied men. A fact that poses many questions. Is it because more men have ASD than women? Or is it that more men are diagnosed because we still don't understand the traits in women. More research needed!
