Tails, despite being important in a lot of places, does become underrated compared to other characters. Ever since post-SA2, Tails just hasn't had a good time (except frontiers) where he didnt act like a flat character. However, almost nobody knows who Rough and Tumble is, completely throwing my argument out the window

As popular as Tails is, he truly is getting the shorter end of stories, character growth, etc. Rough serves exactly the purpose he is given, and theres barely anything to change. Tails, even if more popular, deserves more love

I still care and love my boy Tails and I always praise him so for me Tails is underrated because there were moments in the franchise where he truly shined especially when it came to Frontiers and the final horizon where he really had a big comeback and had such a badass line when he got the second chaos emerald, was having the cyber corruption and when he heard the titan roar in the background! Tails stood strong and brave even when he got the cyber corruption unlike the other two he was only wavered abit only to basically talking with such determination to keep going that he is just Shrugs off the pain of the corruption like it’s nothing for more than 5-9 Minutes straight or more and even more even if it was off screen! And for me that moment in final horizon as well as the fact that he said he is going on his own for bit really gave Tails his comeback and not to mention he finally became playable again along with Amy and Knuckles in final horizon After so many Decades!!!!

There's a difference between properly rated and underrated, sure Tails is quite popular but literally no one gives a dang about rough bro, he's just aimless and underrated doesn't mean that something is just unknown meaning it's underrated. Has to have good qualities and something that pops out about it. Also Tails is just getting neglected a lot same with other characters

Tails is not underrated but to be underrated you have to be a good character who has a lack of attention, and since rough is just kind of an aimless side goon i feel like his more obscure status suits him just fine

And I do respect the other peoples’ choice and I won’t try to make anyone think otherwise to go for the other option but for me the reason why I think Tails is underrated personally is because when there are moments he has his time to show his true colors Frontiers, And final horizon along with SA1, SA2, and Sonic 06 really gave him the moments he needed to show he is not the weakest and shows he has so much more potential within him than people think he does! So for those reasons that’s why I think Tails is underrated in my own opinion but I still respect everyone else’s choice too and I won’t do any slander
