Last week, I felt the Holy Spirit putting it heavy on my heart to drive back to my hometown and visit my grandpa. He even gave me a dream about it.
Man, I’m so glad we went. It was amazing just to sit next to someone who’s lived through four generations and soak up his wisdom. My grandpa has always been an example to me and my family of what it truly means to love, he loved his wife faithfully until she went home to heaven, he raised eight children with that same love, and now he pours it into his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Growing up, I always admired how hard he worked, not for himself, but to make sure others were okay. I honor him so much, he’s the kind of man I aspire to be. He’s still alive today at 92 years old (turning 93 this October!), and I truly believe he still has many more years ahead.
Even now, living in a senior home, my grandpa preaches the gospel door-to-door and leads Bible studies. A Korean War veteran, a man honored by the U.S. military, but even more honored in heaven for the life he’s lived for Jesus Christ.
This post is simply to honor him, even if he never sees it unless my mom shows him lol. I pray he inspires you too. Thank you, Abuelo. I love you.
