an idea for @BrightSunFilms which is to do an "abandoned" episode on the Diamond Point Plaza, it is like a continuation on your "ames" episode because it has that one Ames that @ThisisDanBell explored, and you have jinxed it's demolition, the whole plaza had been demolished, I know most of the history on that plaza, rewinding to before the plaza was planned, it was originally a junkyard, then a man named "Joel Fedder" developed the diamond point plaza which was guaranteed to provide 500 jobs to replace the eyesore, and in 1988, the plaza began construction, and it's grand opening began in 1990 consisting of Hardee's,Pace membership warehouse,a chinese buffet,essex EZ check cashing in 2 separate spaces,tandy leather, sally's beauty supply,K-outlet&Dollar,chuck e cheese, and Zayre, within Zayre's earlier days, it was converted to Ames when it was aquired by the company, in 1994, Sam's bought the warehouse, later on in the 1990's the buffet became Stacy's buffet because the original owner failed in backed taxes and left,the hardee's was also later converted into Roy Rodgers, things were booming till 2002, things took a bad turn for the plaza, the Ames had to close down due to filing for bankruptcy, and the plaza began failing because of that, and in August 1st 2002, Sam's moved to golden ring plaza, with both anchors out of the picture, the plaza cannot stand on it's feet anymore, businesses were closing left and right, stacy's was later converted to super buffet, roy rodgers went missing in action, ez check cashing,k-outlet&dollar,tandy leather, and sally's have moved to new locations, and in 2013, Diamond point home furnishings had opened taking over the Sam's club, in 2015-2016 super buffet had closed down, and within that year, Dan Bell explored the Ames for the first time showing the absolutely terrible condition that the store is in, with the stockrooms still filled with unsold merch, then in 2018, the chuck e cheese, the last business in the plaza had closed down due to underpreformance and health concerns from the Ames, but later on, the plaza was converted to a flea market, and then ARCO design & build bought off the plaza and in 2023 they have began gutting the place and torn it down, but it was not without a cost, within the Ames, one of the demolition workers was crushed by debris and lost his life because of that, and Diamond point home furnishings had moved to the eastpoint mall just a mile away which also had an Ames, in 2024 and to this day, the plaza had been replaced by the Diamond logistics center, the place is unrecognizable, but one of the demolition workers decided to preserve the "m" from the Ames since it's the only thing intact as "A" took a grusome fall and "e"&"s" had crumpled and fell apart, then in 2025, the plaza had been recreated in a game called "rec room" with some of the buildings having full interior, players can even explore the roy rodgers and ames without health concerns, the plaza was great, if Ames didn't file for bankruptcy, the plaza would still be standing today
