He’s not overrated but the refs give him too much leeway to push off

He travelled last night in the 4th twice and it wasn’t called. He got to the line multiple times for questionable, debatable foul calls. The refs help SGA, there’s no doubt

I don’t fw sga but realistically if he wins the chip we are talking about one of the greatest guard seasons of all time

He's not overrated, the extra calls from the refs just puts a damper on how you view his games. But make no mistakes, Shai a bad man.

Hot take but I’d say underrated. I know of people who don’t even have him top 5. The amount of hate he got for getting MVP is crazy. A lot of people saying his team makes him look better than he is. IMO he’s arguably the best all around player in the league, Jokic being the other.

At this point he's underrated just cause almost everybody hates him

The guy is under so much pressure and the expectations are ridiculous. I would be nervous with every game.

The dude is good and plays solid old school ball. Hes got a bag with the mid range and a solid drive. He dont need the 3 ball, but hes got it if he needs it. He playin like antman before he decided to be a 3 ball player and failed his playoff runs. If shai doesnt get hurt and keeps improving like he does every season...hes on his way to be a top 20 for sure!

All of these star players get away with a lot. Jokic with his chicken wing and Giannis with his arm bar.

Im not even a fan of him but i can say he is the 2nd best in the league currently. And either him or Jokic deserved the mvp, but ill definitely say this since nobody talks about it; The OKC lineup has been in and out of injuries this season and they are almost a 70 win team and Shai is averaging 30+ points and has 9 fta a game. Thats really fucking impressive considering for Wade’s and AI’s mvp season they were at the freethrow line like 11/12 times a game. He is not overrated

Naah he's going through Phase 3, the Villain Phase, something EVERY superstar goes through once the "Pedestal Phase" wears out. It starts with Ph 1. Cinderella Phase Where everyone notices u and how good u are getting. Ph 2. Pedestal Phase U are on the map now, u are consistently in the playoffs, and u get into big conversations such as MVP, Face of the League and "The Next One Up" convos. The media hypes you up, usually to ludicrous levels, though to get here is well deserved. Think Antman, Luka and Wemby. Ph 3. Villain Phase Because the media has hyped u up to ludicrous proportions, then ur failures and shortcomings are equally magnified. This is usually around the stage when the words "overrated" gets tossed around, and u get a bad nickname. Tragic Johnson, LeChoke, Ball Hog, in his case, FTA. Ph 4. Legacy Phase Depending on how the superstar handles this, they may continue to reach or exceed expectations, or they'll flame out and be rejected. Zion, Ja, Ben Simmons, Embiid, are examples of those who did not survive the pressure. Giannis and Jokic are the cleanest most recent examples of those who did. Ph 5. Legend Phase If u have wowed people enough, u still get hated, but there's not much about u to hate anymore, so people come back around to accepting ur greatness. Wade, Kobe, MJ and Hakeem are examples of this. Originally hated, but came to be appreciated.

He’s amazing, he plays for the foul which taints his game. He can get 30 a night without it but instead he’s a foul merchant

He’s a great player a great scorer but what people say about him with the refs is true

Dude is not overrated. He's over-hated. Even harden didn't get this much hate when he was even more of a flopper and free throw merchant. Harden also didn't perform in the playoffs and didn't play defense.
