The more fancily edited videos I’ll watch in the foreground, but things like “one hour of useless information” or those videos on fence laws, those go in the background.

Both. I watched them very attentively twice. And then play your channel in the background when I’m sewing or I have a very long car drive because honestly I find your voice relaxing and because your content is educational on the surface but different and it’s approach in education (and just sharing a cool thing you learned), it’s fun to just listen to.

I do a steady bit of both. Your voice is genuinely calming to listen to, and it's so cool to hear and see someone passionate about what they talk about !! :D

It really depends on what I want in the moment. You work for both, and that’s why I love your videos.

After my stroke nearly 8 months ago you were one of the firsts I started watching on Youtube, I mostly watch your progress on your recovery videos. Bless you. Btw I am still dealing with some cognitive issues, mostly some dizziness and brain fog / fatigue.

Mix of both! I'll often watch it on the first time, but you're also one of the creaters I enjoy having on while I work around the house, and that tends to involve much more listening than watching

I watch in the background not because they aren’t engaging to watch but because I’m often busy and it’s how I consume almost ALL of my YouTube content. I listen while working, cleaning, driving, etc. if I had time to sit and watch actively I would

I listen to a lot of things at work. During the winter I sometimes am stuck in a truck or skidsteer moving snow for hours and hours. Can’t use my eyes to watch your content, but I can definitely listen.

Even the videos you put out intending for the to be background throwaway nonsense are engaging and enthralling. Bro I can't look away.

What usually happens is that I watch one in the foreground that I am really interested in, then leave them playing in the background after that first one is over.

Your videos are the type I lock in for I mean I could just listen to them but some of them tend to have genuinely appealing visuals

I usually watch Youtube while doing something else but I always try to pay attention and make sure it's not just background noise for stimulation

Both, but more listening because I don't have time to sit down and watch. Every now and then I'll prop up my phone on the counter while doing dishes, but often if I get to consume YouTube content, it's mostly podcast/story/explainer videos because of how little I get to actually watch. I love seeing the solid editing and visual gags when I get to, but channels like yours, Linus Tech Tips, Townsends, and others that are highly didactic are the main ones I enjoy.

The "X minutes of useless information videos" are usually in the background while I'm doing something else. Most other videos are foreground watches.
