How to send products to Amazon FBA — Step-by-step

Want your products to be Prime-eligible and reach millions? Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to send inventory to Amazon FBA. Follow these steps carefully to avoid delays or rejections.

1) Prepare your account & product details

Log in to Seller Central and make sure your SKU/ASINs are active and set to “Fulfilled by Amazon” (FBA).

2) Create a shipping plan (Send to Amazon)

Go to Inventory > Manage Inventory. Select the product(s) you want to send.

From the Action menu choose Send/Replenish Inventory and follow the Send to Amazon workflow (create a shipping plan, choose packing type: individual units or case-packed). Amazon may split your shipment across fulfillment centers—follow the instructions.

3) Choose prep & labeling options

On the shipping plan you’ll specify how units are prepared (poly-bags, bubble wrap, etc.) and whether you will label or Amazon will label (fee applies if Amazon labels). Choose correct prep for fragile/regulated items.

4) Print box & item labels correctly

Print FBA box ID (shipment) labels and unit (FNSKU) labels from Seller Central and affix them to each carton/unit as instructed. Labels must be scannable, on a flat surface, not on seams — don’t reuse old labels. Follow Amazon’s label specs to avoid rejection.

5) Pack your boxes to Amazon standards

Use strong boxes (RSC), sufficient internal packing (bubble wrap, dividers) and follow Amazon packaging rules (polybag thickness, suffocation warnings, over-boxing for loose sets). Remove old labels or fully cover them. Measure and weigh each box — Amazon will ask for dimensions/weight in the workflow.

6) Select carrier and ship

In the shipping workflow choose either Amazon-partnered carrier (often cheaper) or your own carrier. Create and download carrier labels if required. Schedule pickup or drop-off as per your carrier. Track shipments until they reach the fulfillment center.

7) Confirm & monitor receipt

After shipping, monitor the shipment status in Seller Central → Manage FBA Shipments. Amazon will update when boxes are checked in — if any units are rejected or damaged, Seller Central will notify you with reasons.
