Budget Pedal Chap

My gigging amp is a Peavey Classic 30. It has great cleans, a superb built in reverb, the drive doesn't suck and they are cheap as chips. What is yours?

@DarrellW_UK

I used to use a Peavey Bandit Red Stripe Transtube but now I have retired from gigging I use a Bugera infinium 5W head with a Harley Benton 1x12 Celestion Cab. It’s usually attenuated using the built in attenuation to 1W or 0.1W depending on what I need. I use it through a Sonicake Matribox into my iPad to record on GarageBand. It’s a great little setup for simple stuff I do for my own personal enjoyment.

Just for home use but the monoprice 12" combo is unreasonably nice. I think it cost less than the tubes it comes with when I got one off amazon

a friend of mine have silver stripe peavey rage 158. he got it for free from another friend because the speaker is utterly ruined and reverb isn't working. so he wired the output into his samsung subwoofer. and I kid you not, it sounds IDENTICAL to the first solo of shine on you crazy diamond. with a start the clean just sounds crystal clear, really full, really sparkley top end. because it's subwoofer there's also really percussive response in the low end, and a really nice kind of compression. I cannot stress enough that it is absolutely identical to SOYCD or the solo in another brick in the wall.

Bedroom gigging 😊 with my Laney L5T-112 (older one, made in the UK). ❤ this amp. It's PCB but reparable with tubes sockets mounted to the chassis

For the past five - six years approximately, it's been the mighty Orange terror stamp, either micd up 1x12 or DI via sonicake IR box (or both)

At one time I had a Peavey valve amp (Artist 100w single iirc). I've bought back my Sessionette a few years back (it's dying a death), I've two sizes of Roland Cube and a 100watt Carvin (barely used sadly). I'm a fan of single speakers (although I had a Carlsboro twin at one time), as my first amps were tweaked bass amps.

Evil Twin and Soldano SLO. Okay, modeled versions in Amplitube and Tonex. I just use A Grid Spark (the Twin Reverb emulation, of course). I have a Fender Amp in storage.

Haven’t gigged in over 20 years. If I were to gig, however, I would probably buy a different amp altogether

Hot rod deluxe and I always thought they absolutely smoked the peavy stuff. The drive on the hot rod def sucks , but I have a rat , Kot , and lightspeed for drive tones.

@rockoutmichigan

Just joined a group on rhythm guitar as a temporary replacement and I'm cheating by using my backup bass rig's amp (SWR LA-15 100 watt). I'm usually a bassist obviously. My first bass was a peavey patriot, my second guitar amp was a teal stripe bandit, and I have an ancient PA system from Peavey. Great gear and decent prices.
