I've never been a fan of Star Trek. It's not that I didn't like it, I just wasn't really interested in it. Somehow, through the years (I am 53), I have seen every Star Trek movie. And I mean every movie. I have no idea how this happened, other than circumstances ranging from; it just happened to be on TV and there was nothing else on (basic cable days) to going with a girlfriend because she was into it. That being said, I watch, and will continue to watch, every video you put out. About every topic you decide to talk about. Half the time, I am completely lost. But it's a testament to your ability to make things interesting and at times thought provoking and occasionally downright emotional. You are one of the most sincere, level-headed people on YouTube, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude for what you do. Sure, you're just a guy talking about stuff, whatever that happens to be that day; but you have helped this guy get through some stormy seas once in awhile just by being there with a simple click. So, thank you and keep it up. I'll be there. (My apologies for the length and cheesiness). Have a good one!

There is a lot to like in the episode, the Gorn was really well executed, it was great use of Ortegas, and the premise felt like it could have been a TNG or DS9 episode. The ending is the weakest part. Rather than a real-time contrivance to put the Gorn and Ortegas together, we get a puppet master reveal, and the worst part is it robs us of exploring the aftermath. The writers strike makes sense to blame, most of the contrivances could have been improved with a second draft. The problem is the puppet master is not interesting. It doesn’t matter if it fits into the lore, if it’s uninteresting then it’s boring, which is a jarring emotion after being so invested for the rest of the episode. It also doesn’t help that Caves in Lower Decks lampooned this exact premise hard. But that episode wasn’t boring, it was great.

This season has been a total downgrade on seasons 1 and 2. I really admired how they presented a modern take on the Original Series while giving us a different story and a prequel rolled into one. My main issue with this season is that its writing is fine at best, and downright stupid at worst. And it's not even a charming kind of stupid like the Allamaraine ep in DS9. Another thing that's annoying me is just how unprofessional this crew is. It's like a CW drama set in the Trek universe, especially with Spock having gone through three romances at this point. I'm just wondering why SNW seems to have lost its luster in season 3. It's a real shame honestly.

I haven’t seen the latest episode yet, but I feel bad for the actors this season. They are doing their best with some bad, unnecessary material.

I would argue that 2 episodes this season haven't done that, but that is such a low bar. Completely underwhelming season.

So, it wasn't a mistake to cancel my Paramount Plus subscription?

But Steve! You, of all people, should appreciate how this episode explains the Federation's apparent lack of knowledge about the Gorn in the TOS episode "Arena". Also, do you think that maybe the Metrons are somehow related to the Organians? They both have that "maybe humanity will be worth a shit in a hundred millennia" vibe. What do you think of the fan theory that the Metrons and Organians are an offshoot of the Q Continuum? I'm really excited about the prospect that we'll finally get a Unified Theory of Godlike Beings in Star Trek. I know you would like to know more about how that guy who played McGyver's grandpa fits in. Season 4, Baby! Aren't you getting hard yet?

It was a case of Crab People. That is what happens when time, budget and strikes and failed streaming services collide

people complained about Discovery wokeness... and SNW shows up with a white male captain - they all suddenly say it's the best trek in years. We have to stop coddling the fake fans. Yes, I will gatekeep Star Trek from fascists.

Star trek stopped being interesting after Voyager crushed the Borg.

I was enjoying the last episode but it seemed to be very very similar to the movie, Enemy Mine? Could just be ME...it was done well but I was hoping for more of an original plot idea. I wonder what Louis Gossett, Jr. would think if he watched this episode??? ME-Owwwt😻⚡️🔥🙊

Middle aged person here that will stick to television on DVD and OTA with a bulky antenna.

One of these days, Melissa Navia will get to have a role where she can convey information with just her face and expressions - what the elders used to call "acting", I believe? She had to give exposition TWICE - once normally, then once again for dummies - in nearly every single scene. I know the chart says people are scrolling while they watch TV and need to be told as well as shown, but Terrarium was insulting.

Could this be some psyop to destroy Star Trek for having progressive values? I hope so because the alternative is that they are actually trying to make good television.

If Strange New Worlds could get through one episode this season without shitting its pants before the ending, that would be great.
