What piece of recording gear did you REGRET BUYING the Most?

@schlongle1641

No regrets. My gear was shit, so was I. Years later, my gear is good, and I am still shit. Great success.

@youtuberson4077

line 6 spider 15w was my first amp in high school. i know it gets a lot of hate and is fun to meme on but being able to experiment with so many different tones and effects was really inspiring to me back then as a beginner and helped me understand what different kinds of amps sounded like and why they sounded so different. i have fond memories of those days

A $99 interface, it worked only 2 weeks, I'm in south america, belive me, throwing $100 to the garbage hurts a lot.

Seagull Merlin. It's a one-trick llama.

@VARVIS_

Ive had my line 6 spider for 15 years now and that insane setting still goes insanely hard

@sumchump360

Line 6 for sure. In theory it sounded great

@thenotsoguitarguy9429

My biggest regret is probably audio school. It cost me a metric fuck-ton of money and, at best, my ROI is a net wash with never having gone.

@RollYourOwnProductions

The first piece, it led me down a never-ending rabbit hole...

@djsusan00

Focusrite 18i20 2nd gen. 2 months later gen 3 came out.

The Line 6 spider has had more kids playing guitar in their bedrooms than any other amp in the last 20 years. Hard to say much bad about them, just for that reason.

@bdawg6

Honestly, a tube amp. I am more of a bedroom/producer type. A vst is so much better for my circumstance.

I’d like to add “things that needed a specialized driver” that was updated only when they first released the product.

Anyone who has bought gear from a chronic smoker will know what a pain it is to remove the odor.

AT2020 usb mic. I didn't expect it to be THAT limited as compared to a regular xlr setup. And it was 16 bit for some reason.

The scarlet focusrite that was pumped all over YouTube a few years ago that I've still never used.

Almost all outboard gear, most vsts it took me 10 years to find the few that really matter. Most microphones. And i actually miss my first samson usb mic it would be still super handy to have

@DerDurchschnittsmusiker

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface and a Steinberg UR22 mk2 Audio Interface, the focusrite died in a year and the Steinberg had horrible drivers, that by the way in a consistent manner just deactivated all USB ports on the system. For all the hate Behringer Gear is getting, the audio interface umc404hd and unc1820 working perfectly for years and their drivers are great

@Mr.Goldbar
