Hey everyone!

I hope you’ll excuse a post like this, but my Alma Mater, Cardiff University, has announced it’s planning to close down our School of Music – it’s one of the most important assets of music and the arts in the whole of Wales (in the UK), and as a former student I can fully attest to how much of an enormous impact it has had, and its closure would have, on music of all kinds in the country.

If you’re a musician from nearby, there’s a ‘Salvation Symphony Orchestra and Chorus’ putting on a huge ‘protest’ concert on Saturday 22nd February. It’ll be a fantastically powerful event and an amazing experience, so please share if you know anyone who may be interested in helping out! fb.me/e/6bcAjJzAG

There’s also a petition on change.org if you want to contribute your voice in another way. www.change.org/p/save-cardiff-university-school-of…

I’m sorry to bear this bad news, but any support if you’re able would be hugely appreciated and go a very long way!
By the way – I’m still around (if a little busier now!) so do still leave recommendations for new videos if you have any 😊

Sorry to hear that! Very unfortunate situation all round, hopefully something can be done :( signed the petition but not much else I can really do from the other side of the world. Hope the concert goes well though! And hope that you’re not too badly affected by this

I've signed it! I don't know if my vote as an exiled Russian will ever count, but just your immensive load of important work shows that this faculty deserves to thrive, because it's your Alma Mater. Besides, Scottish composers as Eugen d'Albert and Donald Tovey and so on, are a perfect example that Scottish music is wonderful and it's place at least to study it meticulously.
