Update on the ongoing Greenville Pickens situation. The land is up for sale, but track owner Kevin Whitaker isn't giving interviews and answering questions, so who knows what he's cooking up. Meanwhile a two pronged effort to lease the track for one last series of races is being headed by former SPEED channel reporter Bob Dillner and local Greenville businessman Jackie Manly. On the other side of the coin, Anthony Anders, 2014 National Late Model champ, and 2 time track champ is building a new "Entertainment complex" down the road with what looks like a short track mapped out on the land; although he has not stated any plans to build a new track.
Whatever ends up happening, I will drop everything to attend a race at Greenville Pickens Speedway one last time, and if you're in the area, I encourage you to do the same.
