@maagic2031

The worst is having someone say "you never pick the music, throw something on" and then watching them immediately regret it

Literally every song, regardless of genre.

My advice: lean in. It's a bop? Dance. Get off the couch. Make eye-contact with the person you're presenting it to as you moonwalk poorly. It's an emotional song? Close your eyes. Lean back. Hand crossed over your stomach or behind your head. Breathe slowly. Is it weird and experimental? Periodically look at the person youre presenting it to with a HUGE, silly-ass grin. You set the tone. If you're gonna be sitting there awkwardly, they'll join you.

@juleslariosa

you gotta make sure both of you are occupied while listening, just let it sit as a background music like when you’re cleaning around the house, drinking together, etc. bc that way, you won’t notice if they’re not interested in the music anymore bc both of you are occupied. Makes it less awkward, hurts less (unless they still make unnecessary comments about it lol)

@TheRulerRoderickSutton

Best way to make it less awkward: DANCE TO IT LIKE IT IS THE GREATEST SONG IN THE WORLD! Your enthusiasm will be infectious.

When the ending of the song gets weird and you don't want them to hear that 😅

I’m lucky in that all the songs I like are ones people usually have heard. Sweet Caroline, the boxer, summer of 69 etc

Totally had this experience! Happy to say, it will NEVER happen again! Nothing like it either! I gave up on caring what ANY OTHER human thinks about me, my interests OR my life choices! EVERYBODY is a garbage person, including YOU AND ME!!! The sooner i realized that MOST PEOPLE are walkijg around as nervous and embarrassed AS I USED TO BE, the better off my life has become!

I feel this. You really have to understand the audience and the vibe in the room. Unless your friends are real music heads most people wont wanna hear any of the weird shit.

Even worse, the song just released, and in about 3 months it will be everyone's favorite song and they forgot you put them on first smh

@watchletter

If you have friends that actively enjoy challenging art try and analyse the piece with them, point out parts you like and things the music does really well. If you are both musicians talk musician stuff
