HE HAS NO GRIP!

In worship today a line was sung about death having no grip on me. It struck a chord in my heart as the finality of that statement sunk in. Because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, not only does death have no grip; it also means that sickness and disease have no grip. Having gone through some extreme physical attacks in the past two years and now walking in renewed health and strength, I was brought to tears in thankfulness. I was now experiencing this reality and my faith was stirred.

Then we took communion. As I was reminded about the power of His body and blood, I was so grateful to celebrate this incredible gift. As I was taking all this in, I then saw in my spirit a picture of this transfer happening in real time. As I took in His body and blood, it began to pour out like oil that poured from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. In acknowledging the power of His absolute victory over the enemy, the oil of His Spirit was now covering my entire being. And then I remembered the earlier reminder that death has no grip!

I had to laugh as I saw this unfold. This is the power of the cross when we apply it. Because of the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, the enemy has nothing to hold onto. We are so covered by this oil, he doesn’t have any way to attach himself to us as he literally has no grip!

Be encouraged, saints! Regardless of what you are going through and the battles you may be facing, remember the power of the cross and apply it. What He purchased for us is a sure promise that brings the power of His Spirit and the oil of His presence. As a result, the enemy will lose his grip and you can declare the same words of Jesus, “The prince of this world is coming, but he has no hold on me!” (John 14:30)
