Ray The Producer

Do we have anyone in Islamic Pakistani or Hindu Indian media (forget about the Middle East) who can do this sort of thing? Playfully poke fun at religion and not be canceled (if he’s lucky - at least he leaves with his head)? Keep in mind, Stephen Colbert is a practicing Catholic himself, but even he can have a laugh at his faith. Meanwhile, the subcontinent’s Muslims and Hindus have taken intolerance and brainwashing to the next level. America is far from perfect, and right wing Christians pose the same dangers as Wahhabi/Hindutva types, but at least here you can laugh without being charged with ‘insulting religious sentiment’. Tolerant societies are stronger economies. Instead of 298 and 295, we should be championing free speech and new ideas. Mandir vs. masjid drama is the ultimate waste of time. The less seriously people take religion, the better for all of us. That includes religious people. When you stop thinking about god/s, you can start thinking about progress. Ultimately, man makes mosques and temples, and it is his hard work that puts food on the table. God is a fantasy. More people than ever before are walking away from religion. May the phenomena spread to the land of my ancestors as well.
