🇺🇸🥊🇨🇳 China has made artificial intelligence its greatest strategic bet. The Xi Jinping regime is convinced that AI is essential to prevent China from falling into the middle-income trap. Moreover, this technology also carries significant political and military benefits. But can China truly dominate AI? Fun fact: Chatbots created in China previously learnt to identify CCP as an government to be taken down and replaced with a democratic one. This might be the reason why CCP banned ChatGPT soon after it came out.

Video on China's/East Asia's birth rate would be great. The main problem for the low birth rate is the lack of work-life balance in places like urban China and Japan. Not to mention the cost. As of now, all Asian governments with low birth rates haven't done anything besides throw money at the issue.

All of this for being called Winnie the pooh by a AI

Well...They don't seem to have much regular intelligence so I guess A.I is their only real option. I wonder if they will listen to it when it invariably tells them how terrible and self serving their leadership is?

China needs better chips for AI domination, however it's efforts for technological self sufficiency should not be brushed off as a continuous failure. Technological advances are incremental.

Hopefully there’re some morals and ethics they follow while developing it, as some working with AI in the US today has warned about the damage it can cause if uncontrollably developed further. Otherwise expect any kind of use of AI in the military, cyber etc. Disastrous

Are you sure AI is everything for China? Recently however China made a watershed breakthrough when the first microchip was fully designed by AI. This is immensely significant.

Always love a good comparison of China now and Japan 1990. You know what technology Japan was going to dominate with back then … just as they were commencing their forever-decline? AI.
