Would you ever live in a rural area?

For me personally my plan is to obtain property and build a farm where I spend my life raising animals and crops providing my own food. To me this is making a life rather than making a living. All this making a living I can't make a life. I don't like to spend my time in traffic and as a general contractor I'm watching people change just the way the Bible said they would during the final days of end times, extremely self-serving and corrupt. Praise be to God may he bless you and yours always

I worked a trade where I met many rural property owners. My sad discovery was that each one of their properties had been burglarized. Some more than once. You would think remote living would bring you peace. For them its cameras and weapons ready to shoot. They go shopping and fear their place is being invaded. Hence, I live in a subdivision restricted by HOA rules, but our neighbors keep watch when anyone is away. They'll water plants, feed pets. Its a trade off....but truly I'd rather live among the trees.

I prefer the suburbs. Rural areas are generally too far away from quality medical care facilities.

Planning to make that move in a few years. Grew up on the end of a gravel road. Miss it everyday.

Growing up our nearest neighbor was 1 mile away and the nearest grocery store was 30 miles away. And if I had the opportunity I'd go back

The more rural you are the further you understand people and the world.

I have a homestead in the city and nearly everything is within walking distance (1 mile or less): Groceries, post office, auto parts store, restaurants, gym, etc and the hospital is 4.5 miles away. Plus, we’re allowed to have hens. All right here.

Bro I just heard about a part of the country called the "nobody belt". It's west Texas and everything straight north of it. High elevation, little rain, rough climate, low population. This country sure is interesting

I've lived rural before (in several Midwestern states). Never again. Sure, it's cheap but you get nothing in return. Plus, many communities are insular and/or miserable due to their isolation.

I in fact WANT to live in a rural area. My credit is slowly rising it's at 608 by the time it gets to about 650, 670 I would have been at this particular job for 2 years and I'm going to have about $30,000 cash to put down on a for sale by owner. I do not want to use USDA because I don't want to pay PMI and I don't want to deal with the government.
