Fun fact: Wolverine was created to be able to beat the Hulk, which is obvious by the poll numbers that show there are still people who remember that. Wolverine was originally intended as just a one-off assassin character, hired to kill Hulk. He was not even meant to be a mutant, and his claws were originally part of his gloves vs a part of his skeletal system, when he first appeared in Hulk #181. He was retroactively revealed to be a mutant when Len Wein and Dave Cockrum asked Marvel if they could use the character for their relaunch of X-Men with Giant Size due to the fact the team was firmly phased out of their comics lineup and not being used by anyone after 1970. It was also decided to have an international team so that Marvel could sell more comics internationally. The X-Men were selected because they weren't being used at the time. They were looking for international characters. They could include Banshee and Sunfire who had already been established as mutants. At this point it was also decided to include Wolverine and make him a mutant so he would fit on the team. The original idea behind the character was that he would be Canadian and use the name Wolverine.

Im sure everyone knows this by now or should atleast but Wolverine was created I kid you not to beat Hulk because Stan Lee challenged I believe Jack Kirby to make a character that could do so and years later we’d know him as Wolverine…atleast some of us know this or the poll would say otherwise lol

I love Wolverine i really do , but hes gotta one of the most glazer charactersinall of fiction. Hulk at this point can break planets dimensions and has tangled with folks like Onslaught, Thor, Zeus, and Hercules. If Hulk breaks the planet or throws him into orbit what the heck is Wolverine gonna do?
