Grand History

For the third time in my life I’ve taken a trip to see one of my favorite animals and the reason all of you found this channel. On my east coast road trip I took a night stroll on the shore of Cape Henlopen in Delaware. With my flashlight I managed to find 18 horseshoe crabs flipped upside down and stranded by the tides. I helped each one right side up, 3 of which were females. It’s a simple act, but it goes a long way. Each individual saved is a victory against their extinction. Were it not for pharmaceutical companies harvesting them, a few dying on beaches every year would be part of the natural order. But we live in harsher times, and an act of kindness can help to preserve this ancient lineage for generations to come. Hopefully, they’ll outlast even us, and we will have been yet another species the humble horseshoe crab has seen rise to success and meet its end.

Remember; “JUST FLIP IT”
