I never comment but this is one of the few things I watch on YouTube. Here’s the thing, at what point does higher quality compromise on the personability that we feel with you and your story? It’s a dilemma I’ve seen with many creators that usually has the adverse effect. Viewers don’t always want higher quality production - that’s what we pay Netflix for. What we want is a more humanized story of someone successful without it being over glamorized. The format now hits those points on the head - it’s a realistic look, and has a wider impact than anything on this platform for entrepreneurs (and anyone, really). I’m sure the team has considered this, but as a viewer - we don’t want it to reach a point where it’s “overqualified” content that we can’t relate to anymore. The vlogs are great because they’re not showing the highlight reels all the time, they’re not putting on a show - it’s just real and I think that’s not something we see much of. Regardless, we will likely still watch. But as a viewer, I’d be nervous that the content becomes too over produced that it loses the impact altogether.

personally I feel like people came here for vlogs, not for high production value. that obviously doesn't mean they can't be synonymous but i feel for a vlog its content first, production second. the keen eyed among us have noticed the slips in narrative, disappearing vlogs and the struggle to keep up with the schedule but do you know what? thats ok... there is an ever thinning line between personality and personal brand... authenticity is always the first casualty. if you are who you say you are, stay transparent, talk to us in the way you've made yourself out to be. this post feels like a confirmation of my fear, that you have too many yes men (people) around you and not enough push back. this copy has seemingly landed terribly with the community, it feels detached, commercial and sensationalist... its clear you didn't find that copywriter you were looking for...awkwardly enough, i have a friend that applied for the freelance role, she'd never have left a post like this go out.

Please please please don’t lose the value of people seeing how you balance your schedule with your wellbeing. I personally felt the old format was brilliant.

I don’t mind this - but next time don’t “promise” for it to be weekly multiple times, even after missing a week you then promise it’s weekly again - only to break the promise again lol. Like I said, it’s fine with me as the content is incredible, but just want to give feedback that you shouldn’t make unrealistic promises to your audience. No hate, just wanted to tell you what I thought. Stay awesome and I’ll look forward to the new episodes.

Gutted. Loved the weekly vlogs. It got me fired up for the week ahead on the Sunday.

I think the raw unpolished format is what made the vlogs great! It was already very high quality yet it still had that authentic behind the scenes feel to it. The new idea sounds cool but I think you can build a deeper connection with something more frequent and less polished🙏

I loved the weekly vlogs. There's no need to change the weekly format.

No point promising things you can't commit to in the first place (weekly). The previous VLOGs were obviously the best you could do so this is just typical BS talk for "we can't cope".

Probably not. The last hour long episode was a bit much for a Sunday afternoon. I must agree with u/parariddle on this one. The ~20 minute vlog style videos was an extremely nice way to break up a Sunday, and the predictable upload time made it an exciting event to look forward to after Sunday mass. It also helped that you teased the Monday guest shortly after the upload which built anticipation to watch the main channel the following day.

I really enjoyed watching the vlogs like they were. Authentic, natural, honest and gave the feeling of having close insights. I think that is what made them so good and where I could learn something from. I personally don't need better editing, a prepared story or anything. I prefer the raw reality and original insights.

As others have mentioned, the reason we love the videos is not because of the quality, but because of its authentic, unpolished format. Understanding all the ins and outs of what an entrepreneur and its team lifestyle and way of working is. And not a cherry picked of the best moments of the last month video. All love though

There’s an honesty and relatability that comes from your weekly behind the scenes vlogs that is a real genuine value add. It’s intrinsically interesting, entertaining and educational just as it is. We come here to see that uncut, unpolished reality, not a cinematic experience. How about you take a break for a few weeks, build up a backlog of footage and then release the weekly vlogs on a bit of a delay to give you some breathing room and chance to work on the edit with a bit less pressure? It would be a shame to lose the essence of these vlogs 😓

Great, more in depth projects is good. So a more behind the scenes of behind the scenes.

Like most comments, I agree, I like the weekly format. Buuuuut, I do get it. Every week I kept seeing the same clips recycled. I just hope the new format will not be too structured and rehearsed. I like the idea that I’m actually getting a sneak peek into Steven’s busy (and motivating) life.

I’m bummed…I usually set the tone of my week with your vids each Sunday. I am habit driven and like the frequency.

Was always looking forward to the weekly vlogs. Time to find a new channel

My preference would be scrappier, weekly content over polished vlogs - the value was their raw nature… I’m sure the new videos will be good - but my initial reaction is disappointment…

Behind The Diary
BIG news! After a ton of brainstorming, Will, Lish, Jack and I have had some discussions and we're excited to share our new direction with you.
So, what's the plan? Well, we're shifting gears from our usual weekly vlog format to something a bit more, shall we say… high quality. We want to bring you the biggest projects, richest narratives, and uncompressed quality in each and every story we tell.
We want our videos to make a real impact on your lives. Success, to us, is defined by our ability to reach a wider audience and make a meaningful impact on this channel.
So, what does this mean today?
For starters, you can expect a change in our release schedule from weekly to every few weeks. We've already got a ton of exciting story arcs lined up for the year ahead. From behind-the-scenes looks at personal projects to deep dives into business ventures and incredible founder stories.
In reality this means we’ll spend more time filming - and show you deeper context and insights into things. Instead of just a highlight reel of what happened that week, we want to give the person watching really really deep context. For example, if I’m launching a new company, instead of showing surface level meetings - you will get to see everything.
This decision is ultimately about depth… how do we give you the viewer MORE depth instead of just showing the surface.
If it doesn’t work, if yall don’t get value from it, we will return to weekly style vlogs in the current format.
We're incredibly grateful for all of your support. If you've been with us from the beginning or just stumbled upon our channel yesterday, together, we're going to create something truly special.
Will you be joining us?
