As a contractor, I can say that it is definitely appreciated getting some sort of small bonus at the end of the day is always nice. Not often that I get to enjoy that either so when it does come I am especially grateful

I did commercial landscaping and cannot express enough how much our crew loved receiving snacks and water on the job. On Fridays after work our supervisors would get us a case of Miller Lite.

Some of the poorest people are the most generous when you’re working at their home

I had my roof replaced last summer. Got pizzas and beer for the crew as a thank you. They worked 3 days in 100 degree heat, starting at 730am and finishing aro6730pm. Did whole tear off job on a steep ass 2nd story roof.

As a remodel contractor for the last 15 years. I can say it almost never happens, but when it does it is very much appreciated. And can go a long way on getting some guys to stay a little late to finish something up. Which just might save your schedule. Purely from a financial point of view, I’d say it’s always a win. Cheap and kind way to buy a little loyalty.

I have been a carpenter for 30 years and yes we appreciate it. It doesn’t get in the way of building. It shouldn’t make a difference in the quality of work you get. Most folks that build things for a living take pride in what they do.

I don’t reward my crew with beer. I treat them with some type of catered meal or a few pizzas at least once a week. But I make sure they have snacks and plenty of water and Gatorade regularly each day! We like to keep the work zone an alcohol / drug free environment. Definitely helps with productivity!

In medieval times, this is how it was done. If you had someone do manual labor, you fed them and you paid them. This was cut down during the Industial Factory Age. Makes you think how much harder people might work if you gave them a hot meal on top of their salary

Ive been in construction my whole life and i always do my best but if the customer offers food or drinks i always make sure to take care of them and do a lil extra here and there to show my appreciation.

We love the appreciation and hospitality customers give us, knowing the boss doesn't care .

I have done this for years. It is a sign to the workers that we respect and value their efforts, and they are allowed to enjoy visible and measurable tokens of thanks as a sign of that. Workers who get treated like this will go the extra mile to protect your interests

In my years of manual skilled labor I've always been pleasantly surprised when safely prepackaged refreshments are offered by customers, and I've been careful not to resent the majority of customers who never do that. One summer I was mowing a large scale HOA neighborhood, one of the two hundred house developments where each house is identical to the one next to it aside from house number. One old man, let's call him Jim, is a total Sweetheart and will use his social security to buy us mowers a case of soda or two each week. Becomes a very appreciated routine when it's always 105°F by the time you get to his house. All well and good, but now it becomes expected. One week for an unknown reason Jim does not come out to chat and does not leave soda out, no big deal to the employees that are mature and understand that the weekly soda being missing is no problem, but all the new guys that expected that soda were PISSED that day. No drama or problems unfolded, but I had to tell a grown ass employee not to get upset that Jim didnt personally deliver him a Pepsi that day. I dont see any problem with customers providing refreshment to laborers, I have every problem working with guys who feel entitled to those refreshments eventually.

As a pressure washing company, if you did this for us, I would either throw in some extras or give a discount on future work. It goes a long way being looked at as a human and not a lowly cleaner. Yes, it is very appreciated.

My guys are driving company vehicles, so beer is definitely out of the question. Ice cold water and Gatorade though, always appreciated 👍

Everything is good minus the beer. No getting drunk while fixing my house. Lol 👀

Wealthy people complain about the dust you leave behind. Poor people often buy you lunch and Pat you on the back

Hint: Everyone commenting "Alchol - hell no!" has never worked let alone been on a real construction site for even 15 seconds. Our entire country was built off of drunks having a good time🤣

REAL beer for contractors/builders/construction workers is a super nice gesture and one that will hands down have them doing that little extra for ya. 0% alcohol beer may make them sabotage your house

Builder Brigade
Does giving the Contractors food and beer (at the end of the day) actually help, or just get in the way of the work?
It’s not required, but I think stuff like this goes a long way.
Seems like the right thing to do and shows appreciation to those who are building your house.
