And yet, to paraphrase Emerson: Its all fine and dandy to fill a role, but you will always fill any role imperfectly, because you are a human not a mere job, task, skill, etc.. So dont go around like most people metaphorically chopping off bits of yourself and your humanity to try and jam into that role, simply do it and accept that being a whole human is more important than fulfilling a role a little bit better.

I disagree. Everyone's life is their own life and everyone's responsibility is for their own happiness. It is not your duty to work for others. It is not your duty to live your life for others. Your only duty is to your own life.
