Simon Clark

Thank you to everyone who came to "Music from Pole to Pole" in London last night! It was quite simply one of the most special evenings of my life.

Working with the Sinfonia was an absolute pleasure, and from the 5-star reviews we received, it seems like people in the audience had a good time too! Thank you to everyone who came and said hello afterwards. Your support really means the world to me.

The intersection of science and art is so underexplored, and particularly the intersection between climate and music. I would love to do more projects like this, and there may be a possibility of this production touring to other venues. If that sounds interesting to you and you might like to attend, please let me know in the comments!

It was a lovely way to experience the clouds (even if arcus cloud formation is for ears only, never to be seen). Thank you for presenting

Incredible show and great venue, I went with a friend from Imperial's Grantham Institute and we loved it. As you head out to the mesosphere, there's ice crystals in atmosphere 100s of millions of times dryer than the Sahara, The paired contemporary piece has these exquisite sparse, scratchy violins. I only wish you'd switched the violin strings to change the timbre. From catgut -> nylon, or from nylon -> something even more "glassy" or "icy". 10/10 show. Well done.

Haha was gonna ask if you've got any upcoming concerts like this planned but forgot. Personally, it's so nice to have a (mental) visual image of the music while listening as someone who's not the most imaginative and often loses focus especially when it comes to contemporary works. The programme integrates so well with the cloud science, insightful and very information-packed thanks to your superb delivery. I especially enjoyed the penultimate piece, put me right in the mesosphere with the hoarse, sliding, spectral harmonics. Needless to say, time flew past effortlessly! (Btw, was it you who came up with the shades? šŸ˜‚
