The fact that Lens is being build in public is good and a bad thing at the same time. 🎭 Good is that it gets some recognition, and the bad is that the content itself takes some time to make. I am still learning how to balance that. I try to post more on social media about the work I put into the project, but as with everything, it takes time. If you create any content - you know how much.
Right now, we’re adjusting all the algorithms we created so that lens can exist. For now I can tell you the main 3:
⚪️ Scoring for post and user - we use a variation of ELO system to ensure that every engagement get a fair value based on the size of two parties involved within certain engagement
⚪️ User preferences - for the „Inspire” page, where lens provide users with photos they liking, we have an algorithm that calculates the topic users interested in based on the their engagements.
⚪️Lens economy - this algorithm takes care of the amount of money that travels between users, its users the Scoring from the first algorithm and adds required boundaries that makes lens economy fair and square.
I cannot disclose any more details at the moment. But I’ll definitely touch that topic in one of my videos.
If you have a minute, go watch one of my videos or check out the lens website (lens-app.com). Let me know what you think about the project and the content, tell me what I can improve! 💪
