And it has nothing to do with being afraid that AI is going to replace humans in tech.
I'm tired of the over-inflated hype that doesn't match up to the current capabilities.
I'm tired of people with a low skill level who want to improve in something, but who use AI as an excuse not to or lean on it so hard that they ensure they will easily be replaceable by AI slop.
There's no "thinking" or "reasoning". It's probabilistic.
If you are one of those people who constantly prop AI up on a pedestal, you're signaling to the rest of us a few things.
1. If you're using it for most skills you don't care to get better at, you're showing that you don't surround yourself with intelligent people who can supplement things you're not great with, and you are just satisfied with low-tier AI slop in anything that you create.
2. You likely use it to outsource your problem solving, critical thinking, or creative abilities. And you're getting dumber for it.
3. Or worst of all, you don't value high skill level in anything. You are the type of person who is just so... uninspiring to be around. There's nothing more pathetic than someone who constantly is looking for the easiest route and puts the least amount of effort in, but feels entitled to the rewards that other hard working people have achieved.
This isn't a resistance to technological change. There's a HUGE mismatch of the hype & marketing vs the reality.
This has been an incredibly disappointing period in the progression of tech that exposes the most uninspiring, low-effort people who, in time, are committing to a life of low aspirations and eventually cognitive decline.
