Vectrex4Life

A big thank you to everyone who has supported me in 2023. I didn't release as many videos as I wanted to this year, but I have been hard at work on some very, very big projects that I started working on in 2021. 2021 was the year I graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Film, Television and New Media production. I learned a lot and I treasure the time that I spent there. It feels odd to say, but I have yet to release a video that truly displays my capabilities as a film school graduate. But this year I'm going to make videos that have significant improvements in filming, editing, audio, color grading, everything. I never had much of a budget when it came to making videos (I still don't). But with the help of some friends and some new gear, I think I can raise the production value and deliver fresh and exciting content.

Looking back, I am proud of the legacy of Forgotten Games. Even 11 years after the series began, I am still receiving kind comments from returning viewers and new viewers, telling me how much they enjoy the videos. It's not easy to put into words how much these comments mean to me. Just know that I still read all the comments and that any positive feedback I receive means a lot to me. If you're wondering, I still very much enjoy playing video games. And yes, I do still play some of the LEGO games (LEGO Racers especially).

There is no question that gaming videos are oversaturated on YouTube. There is more than enough people delivering gaming content. I could continue to be one of the thousands of channels that talks about video games, or I could be one of the very few people who talks about eurobeat. Eurobeat is a subject that I am deeply passionate about. There is so much to talk about and so many fascinating untold stories. What was once only for Japan is now for the whole world. I believe there is tremendous potential to grow this community.

My vision is clear for exactly what I want to do and how to do it. It's just a matter of, well, doing it! I am prepared to deliver content that no one else has ever made before. No one has seen Vectrex in full effect! I can't wait to share what I've been working.

Thank you for sticking with me in 2023. So much more is to come.

Here's to a phenomenal 2024.
Cheers.

@LeToplache007

I basically grew up on many of your Forgotten Games videos as a young teen when I managed to learn enough of English (as my second language) and I rewatched them many times. In the meantime, I also started to like Eurobeat and have about 200 songs in my playlists. Certainly not as crazy a number as your playlists, but still good enough! I actually made a Eurobeat song for my electronic music course that I attended in a university in my city, and it was well recieved by students, friends and family alike. One day I hope to maybe get some of my talent out to the big producers of Eurobeat, I also literally live in a country next to Italy. I will fully support you on your mission to try and bring the genre to more people! Although it will be tough, it can definitely be done! If the big producers of Eurobeat never gave up when the genre wasn't catching on here in the west lke it was in Japan, then there is no reason for any of us to give up! I usually wouldn't stay for such a turnaround of content, but this is a twist which is unexpected, but also, very pleasant! I didn't expect a triumphant return, but I'm tingling with excitement now! Thank you for all you've done over the past decade and for what you will do over the next! I shall wait patiently for the Eurobeat content! My expectations are modestly high!

Glad that you’re finding and acting on what you’re passionate about! The best way to stand out is to just be you! As for gaming videos, The best ones nowadays are the ones where people are just enjoying themselves because they enjoy the product, they’re not turning it into a series or a review or anything like that, they’re just having fun!

I did a similar degree in 2018 so respect for sticking through to the end and good luck. The tailwind of my year hit me with the worst so I hope others will be OK and we can look to hopefully some good times with one another. Not sure how your arcade stuff is going still <.< that's been my main focus on my end. Anyway happy New Year vectrex, tackle that touge!

I remember coming across your Lego Racers review before I even had my own email. (Around late 2013 maybe ) It is really cool to see you grow as a video maker over the years and I’m looking forward to see what you do in future with your new found skills.

Keep doing what you do. Your success isn't achieved by views but in what you learn along the way.
