There is no other, the best measurement for a singer is the ability to stand out meaning that your voice is strong enough to hit almost all the notes of a song. Anita proved that she was able to make that reachable.

Chaka Khan started before any of the others on the list. And by that I mean Grammys, Gold Records, Number One Hits (with Rufus). And she stayed relevant from the Rufus (1973) album, right up until the Hello Happiness (2019) album. That's 46 consecutive years! She has continued to consistently sell out venues continuously. No matter what part of the world she is performing. Although I have bought albums from some of the other great vocalists on this list. I have more of Chaka Khan's CDs. She is fearless. Chaka Khan has recorded "Goldfinger" and "Diamonds Are Forever". Two great James Bond hits first recorded by Shirley Bassey. For anyone that has listened to those two songs, know how powerful Shirley Bassey's voice is. The songs Chaka Khan chooses to sing are always the ones I want to hear. We are so blessed to have her still performing live concerts. R & B, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Oldies, Contemporary... she can do them all.
