We all know that the wife and pastor love did this without a doubt! The only thing that is so confusing to me is why people are always so concerned with how a person wants or needs a life insurance policy. My 98 year old grams had passed years ago. The first thing the funeral home wanted was life insurance information. The reason the family cant pay for expenses. Who has 10 to 20 grand sitting around to pay for funeral expenses? So they do a loan thing off of insurance to guarantee they get paid. My grams, my dad , my great aunts, uncle, my mom etc. The very first thing the funeral place asks for is payment from the surving family members, and most likely, it comes from insurance. My Grams was smart! She did a prepaid program for 4 plots and caskets. Still, with that, its expensive. The room, the flowers, embalming, preparing, and that list goes on and on. Bare minimum 6 grand if you already have a plot and casket. My stepdad, whom i took care of for 14 months ( 2nd bout of cancer, went blind etc ) had me go to funeral place to pay for extra costs out of his checking as he had no life insurance. 6 grand for no viewing room, no flowers, outside tent ( in Florida, mind you), no sign in book ,no printed death cards, etc. Bare minimum and exactly what he wanted. 6 grand on top of the prepaid casket and plot. Military honor guard, and it was lovely. My point here is that its a given for insurance after a death immediately for expenses. That being said, they all had small policies. 10 to 20 grand. Funeral expenses ,clearing out their belongings, etc. I still went into debt. Maybe thats the difference in how high the policies are for.Either case still needed immediately for last expenses. The sky-high insurance on a person is sus. Having a small policy for last expenses not! I was blessed to be able to care for my loved ones( grams 98, Dad 74 pancreatic cancer, mom 82 breast cancer, stepdad 79 lung cancer) as a cancer survivor myself so i knew whole heartedly i wanted their last days months to be the best. in stepdads case 14 months once he came to my home out of love. I still have hurt!! Did i do enough getting hospice, making sure they had everything they needed. Time, talks meals love and laughter! I doubt myself sometimes still. Our loved ones should be cherished, and when people kill, it disgusts me! Why?! Just why?! I would give my last breath to help anyone, and here you have such evil. It's disgusting!! Walk away, people!! Simple as that. I tend to get long-winded, so i apologize. Small policies for final expenses good, excessive policies not good. Insuranc is important and immediate if in small amounts and no profit. I told a whole book, and i didn't simplify it. My story and just trying to get the facts out there. Insurance needed immediately is a given in most cases. Bless you if you got through my novel here! Its what happens in the death of a loved one and first is insurance. ...again in small amounts.
