Walking with Tamson

For our next wee donder we visit one of Scotlands most significant cultural locations. Situated just ower the hill frae Clackmannanshire, Dunfermline Abbey bides next to the famous PittenCrieff Park.

The Abbey here has a history of over 1200 years and is where Scotlands first King and the subsequent 16 Monarch are buried. Destroyed in 1560 during the Scottish reformation the Abbey was left to ruin. During this time the Abbey was subjected to its first Protestant cleansing in 1599 then sacked in 1590. Today Sunday service is still held inside.

There is much to see and learn as we visit the ancient origins of Scotlands rulers. Come and see first hand the final resting place where our hero's reside
