I haven’t rewatched my old CartoonMania episodes in a while, but let me say what I can remember about them.

Episode 1 - Poor Direction Sense (2016)
All I can remember about this short is that it was one of the first shorts that I made to entertain my family.

Episode 2 - Slapstick (2016)
How the opening scene became a meme, I will never understand in a million years. The end quote was straight up taken from “American Dad”, replaced “chair” with “sledgehammer”. I wasn’t all that creative.

Episode 3 - I Am Happy (2016)
Ryan’s “Mr. Will Ritson” quote was originally going to be a catchphrase of his, and he did say it again in the movie, but that was it. There was also going to be a scene with two other toons, Nestor and Truman, but their scene got scrapped.

Episode 4 - Auditions (2016)
The trailer for “Sing” inspired that short. Clearly.

Episode 5 - Get Your Shinebox (2016)
This was meant to be a nod to the characters that the StickFigures were named after.

Episode 6 - Firework (2016)
Wanted to make another StickFigures short for the 4th of July in 2016, and also to show that Jimmy’s not someone you want to mess with.

Episode 7 - Sneaking at Night (2016)
All I can remember is that my dad inspired me to add the last scene where Quincy gets caught sneaking food. My dad was in stitches when he saw the added bit at the end. There were also 200 characters at the time.

Episode 8 - Copyright (2016)
Copyright was a worry of mine at the time, and I was told that it would cost $345 to have my characters copyright protected, so that short was born. The copyright chip implanter was inspired by the career chip thing from Futurama I think. Plus, you can tell that a FHFIF shot was imitated in this.

Episode 9 - I’m All Ears (2016)
I finally gave my cartoonist ears. Why I didn’t give him ears in the first place, I’ll probably never remember. I think this short was also an excuse just to have Sylvester run through that golden staircase shot.

Episode 10 - They Don’t Call Him Wacky Quacky For Nothing (2016)
I think I grabbed some of those corny jokes that Wacky was telling from online. One thing I still like about that short is him morphing into Ray Liotta at the end as a reference to Goodfellas.

Episode 11 - Unprotected (2016)
I made this as a callback to the copyright short, and as another excuse to imitate another FHFIF shot, I was clearly obsessed with the show at the time.

Episode 12 - Masterpiece (2016)
I wanted to explore more of Victor’s virus aspect, mainly with him sneezing adware all over the place.

Episode 13 - Handle With Scare (2016)
Oh, this special was cringe, but I’m still fond of a few gags from here, mainly “Say ‘aah’ for Dr. Bullet!” followed by “Dang it, Henry!” One of the scenes with Donald Trumpet was originally cut in the first upload of this special, but I reuploaded it uncut. I don’t think I’m gonna do any political jokes after that. Politics are a mess.

Episode 14 - Xmas Marks the Spot (2016)
I think this episode highlighted how severely unpopulated the rest of the city is the most. I had to use characters from the house to populate the rest of the city. I think I hate that about this special the most. This was the last episode I made before I began production of my movie. There were also 300 characters at this time. The last twenty were made a couple of months later before animation for the movie began.

Episode 15 - Sandwich (2016)
I remember this short being influenced by scenes from both Rocko’s Modern Life (the Heffer Deluxe) and Back at the Barnyard (spit sandwich).

Episode 16 - Twelve Days of Christmas (2016)
I remember it was actually one of The Simpsons’ couch gags that inspired this short.

@animator3204

Episode 17 - Prank (2017) I made this short after I finished animating my movie. I think this was when the voice of Father from KND began to influence me. “Oh no, ya don’t!” Maurice LaMarche is a legend. Wacky’s crazy laughing at the end was also influenced by Harvey Kneeslapper, specifically the “Sticky Four” sketch. Frank Oz is a legend as well. Episode 18 - Doorbell (2017) “This is our house!” was inspired by a scene from a Season 1 episode of The Simpsons from what I remember. “There’s No Disgrace Like Home”. Episode 19 - Twister (2017) “Why do you have a sink?!” was me trying to make a meme-able moment. Quotes from Invader Zim and SpongeBob were what inspired it. “Why was there bacon in the soap?!” and “Forget the book!” were what inspired it. The “Doesn’t time heal all wounds?” joke is still something I’m pretty fond of though. Episode 20 - Countdown (2017) I think another Simpsons episode inspired this one, the one where the ball drop gets stuck at “8”, either that or the Futurama premiere with the New Years’ ball drop countdown. Plus, I wanted to work with Mr. Incredibone more, have him be a hero, and also have Victor as his sidekick. That didn’t last long, evidently. Episode 21 - Happy Valentine’s Day (2018) I wanted to make something for Valentine’s Day, plus show off more of Victor’s abilities by going in and out of computers. Episode 22 - Friday the 13th (2018) I remember hearing the constant “Is that all you got?! Is that all you got?!” quote from somewhere else, but I could never find the source and I still can’t find it today. I probably imagined it, but I used it for this short. I had a hoot animating all of the bad luck scenes. This was also to show off the digitally redrawn self-portraits in the house, which was basically a rip-off of Squidward’s self-portraits. I don’t think I’ll be revisiting that to be honest. Episode 23 - Surprise (2018) Made this to have more Wacky and Victor. Episode 24 - Glue (2018) I ran a poll on Twitter in 2018 asking which characters the next short should be about. I listed The StickFigures, Roland RG-402 Space Gecko, Captain McMallard, and McGee. I decided to do all four of them merely because I felt like it. I actually don’t remember which character won. Probably The StickFigures since I posted their episode first. I wanted to explore more of the concept of The StickFigures living on a piece of paper and having to deal with oversized school supplies. Episode 25 - The Rise of the Flightless (2018) I’ve always wanted to do a story on Roland RG-402 Space Gecko so badly, and I wanted to have him outside of his ship for once. The scenes with him running up the stairs were a reference to Rocky. Episode 26 - Treasure Map (2018) As much as I wanted to do a Captain McMallard cartoon, this was also an excuse to showcase the different themes that the 100 floors had, which were newly designed at the time, and an excuse to have Victor as Captain McMallard’s first mate. Episode 27 - Blueprints (2018) Wanted to do a story with McGee, plus an origin story on how the house was built and why each of the floors’ themes were different, plus some backstory on the cartoonist and where he lived after he left his parents’ house and before he lived in the giant house with all of his toons. Plus, more Wacky. I think I was writing him to be more loud and insane at that point. Episode 28 - Double Conflict (2018) This entire short was purely built around the “DO I LOOK AMUSED TO YOU?!” bit. Inspired by some Fresh Prince of Bel Air scenes with Uncle Phil that had me in stitches. Working with Count Quarterbacula, a football playing vampire, was definitely interesting to do. Plus, since Victor was already a superhero sidekick, a first mate, and a sheep toon’s boyfriend, why not add football player to the list? He’s been building up a resume. Also the “French fries for breakfast” bit, I don’t know why I threw that in there, but I did because I felt like it, so there. Episode 29 - Hide and Seek (2018) This episode was in development limbo for almost a year because I was unsure about how I wanted the cartoon to go at the time. This was also my first time having one of my characters (Carter) being voiced by someone else. Episode 30 - Diamond (2018) I feel like this episode was to establish Roy as a character, because I was working with him in Acknowledgment alongside this short, and I wanted to explore more of him along with Otis. Episode 31 - Acknowledgment (2018) Crossover Nexus rip-off. That’s what it is. I’ve always had this insatiable thirst to imitate any media that I was fixated on. I remember asking a bunch of people for a bunch of web cartoons and comics to reference. I revisited web cartoons that I was familiar with such as Happy Tree Friends and Eddsworld, I was introduced to some web cartoons I’ve never even heard of such as Zombie College and Space Goose, and I also referenced storytime animators, online comics, etc. George Liquor was there because his web cartoon was one of the first online cartoons, much like how The Moxy Show was the first Cartoon Network show, and Long Gone Gulch and Hazbin Hotel were upcoming web cartoons at the time so I included them too. I still find it amazing how far Hazbin has come. Other web projects that I forgot to reference as statues got their logos referenced here and there. I’ll say this, while this was fun to make, I will not be revisiting the crossovers/“Webtoon Hall of Fame” concepts. Episode 32 - Whatever Happened to Victor Virus? (2019) I wanted to do a Victor-centric story for years and I wrote up a backstory for him and how he became a computer virus, plus I wanted to show how toons were brought to life by cartoonists with computers and printers. This was during a time where I was experimenting with my cartoon and taking it in a different, more serious and even darker direction, especially with the hallucination/nightmare scenes and the flayed bloody arms. Season 5 of Samurai Jack inspired the hallucinations and nightmares. This was also my first time giving the characters thicker outlines, which I will never regret. I also took this opportunity to reference some forgotten web cartoons from my previous episode, mainly Elmo Aardvark, since I thought that his web cartoon was the first one at the time. CartoonMania: The Movie (2019, series finale) I honestly don’t really know what else to say about this right now, other than the fact that the entire plot was built around an imitation of the “Kill, kill, kill” scene from The Simpsons Movie, and that it’s the true series finale of “CartoonMania”. I feel like I summed it up in one of my last posts. I’m just happy that I was able to finish the blasted thing. If I can remember anymore, I’ll probably edit it in these posts. Peace. ✌️

@tommystickfigure

I know you probably won't see this and will be creeped out by my appearance on here, but I really enjoy the StickFigures and what they are based off, can't wait to see what cha have in store for them, even tho I kind of like their old designs better because of the accessories not being present on those designs.

@patricknothingless

Hey 320, I have 3 questions: 1: Is Roland going to be outside of his ship in the reboot? 2: Why did the characters have 10 fingers? and 3: Is Lucifer Killingsworth going to return in the reboot? (Btw, Carter is one of my favorite characters.)

@SoraThePanFloof

I see that you refer to one of the main characters as his new name "Sylvester", Do you plan on re-dubbing the old shorts to remove instances of the old name to the new Sylvester name or do you want to keep the shorts as is for preservation sake?
