:_layne3::_layne1::_layne2:For those of us who hold the music of Alice In Chains close, there's a unique, irreplaceable nostalgia that Layne Staley’s voice brings. Many of us long for that raw sound, that profound ache that Layne left in our hearts. Few have captured his haunting intensity and resonance so accurately, but Bobby Sisk (@bobbysiskvocals) does. His covers of AIC bring that bittersweet familiarity back, honoring Layne's legacy in a way that feels like a tribute, not an imitation. Imagine starting a new chapter of that legacy with Bobby’s voice. With the support of AIC’s fan base, we might just bring this dream to life. If you’re moved by Bobby’s performances and want to see him recognized, we’re inviting you to send a message to AIC’s manager, David Benveniste. No. That's disrespectful. Mockery is the worst thing one can do to a dead man's legacy. That's why I like Duvall so much. He isn't trying to be layne. He is William Duvall. I say the same about Emily Armstrong and Chester Bennington. Emily is Emily and she isn't trying to be Chester. She's trying to be herself. Regardless of what people online say about her. You wouldn't want dave and krist to restart nirvana with fucking Shaun Morgan replacing kurt lol. But you wouldn't mind it if he ain't trying to be kurt.

The world doesn’t need ANOTHER Layne. Thats disrespectful to the goat himself.

The problem with that is it would sound like an impression and that sort of takes away from the artistry. Plus it would only sound "right" on the 90s stuff, it would be kind of weird to put that sound into the modern stuff or new songs. I'm glad they went their own way and didn't try to replace Layne and made a new era for AiC. I don't think catering to nostalgia like that is good either. Yeah, some old fans will like it, but do you really want to reduce your body of work to nostalgia? That turns you into a cover band.

I think it would be very interesting to hear John Bush singing AICs songs... Don't forget that Bush was an influence on Layne in his early days.

I don't listen to the post Layne stuff but I do respect the guy who sings for them. I do like Jerry's solo stuff.

When are you gonna do an episode on Roger Daltrey! One of the best but most underappriecated vocalists of all time!

Coke over Pepsi? You goddamn' right I don't (southern, deep growl voice)

In all seriousness, no, duvall is amazing with the guys, despite me never seeing them live, and nothing else will change that.

TBH I prefer that they got a guy like Will, rather than just going for a sound alike. There are probably plenty of singers who could do a Layne impression but I’m glad they got a guy who sounds different with a strong voice himself.

In a country singer and have been for years, I would love to do it.

Big Daddy Muddy Rivers would be a great fit as the lead singer of Alice In Chains.
