Depending on how many different traits you're looking for and what kind depends on how you tell.

As a new grower I am unsure. What I have been looking for is how far can a plant be stressed before herming. My very first auto was a free sample from an order and it took a long time to get going. It pre hermed when it had about 4-5 more weeks of flower. I had to pull it and cut it early hoping my other plan was unaffected.

Literally I used to think anyrhing that comes from a seed is good... and boy was I wrong.. I've seen it all in my experience and sometimes u can get a really nice structured plant that produced great buds.. and a slight chance to get a seed that takes super long to germinate or it's just a dud.. either way and moral of the story : buy seeds from a well known supplier .
